ENCORE 2008

In 2008, ENCORE's first lustrum year, we plan to undertake a wide variety of activities again. Several workshops and brainstorms have been scheduled. Subjects include (preliminary): Calling Party's Network Pays vs Bill and Keep; Pricing Tests for Commodity Bundles; Competition and Advertizing; and Perception and Compliance. A highlight will be the fifth ENCORE Annual Conference.

Announcements on dates will follow in January.

ENCORE Master Thesis Prizes
Deadline for submission: January 7, 2008

The ENCORE Master Thesis Prizes reward the best Master thesis written in the field of Industrial Organization, specifically competition and regulation, 2006-2007. The prize for the winning Master Thesis is 3.000,-. The winning thesis is published by the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa). To read the criteria for submission, click here.

New Fellows

Giancarlo Spagnolo recently joined the ENCORE Fellows Network. Giancarlo Spagnolo is professor of economics at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and senior research fellow at SITE-Stockholm School of Economics. He is also scientific advisor of Consip Research Unit , research affiliate of CEPR , and scientific advisor at Lear. To view his personal page, click here.

Annual Fellows & Associates Meeting
December 7, ENCORE organized the second Annual Fellows & Associates Meeting in The Grand in Amsterdam. ENCORE Associate Paul de Bijl (CPB) gave his view on today's big issues in the policy field of Competion and Regulation. Patrick van Cayseele (KuLeuven and UvA), ENCORE Fellow, discussed the hot debates in IO-academia. A lively discussion with the associates and fellows present followed.
