Dr Olaf Cornielje is member of the management team of the Competition Directorate of the Department of Economic Affairs in the Netherlands. His responsibilities include general research and strategy of the directorate, consumer affairs, public procurement, market transparency. He is one of the founding members of ENCORE.

 

Dr Jeroen Hinloopen is Associate Professor of Industrial Organization at the University of Amsterdam, Associate Editor of the Review of Industrial Organization, and Academic Director of ENCORE. His research is both theoretical and empirical with a recent focus on the economics of Research and Development, empirical international trade, and competition policy.

 

Mr Pieter Kalbfleisch, former Acting Presiding Judge at the Court of The Hague, has been Director-General of the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) since September 2003.

 

Prof. Stephen Martin is a Professor of Economics and Faculty Director of the Technology Transfer Initiative at the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University (USA). His research interests include all areas of industrial economics, on which he has published widely, with current emphasis on comparative competition policy and experimental tests of theories of vertical

foreclosure.

 

Dr Marc Pomp is a program leader at CPB, Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis. His past research focused on competition and incentives in health care, education and research institutes.Current research topics include competition in insurance markets and government procurement.

 

Prof. Jules Theeuwes is General Director of ENCORE and Professor in Applied Economic Research at the University of Amsterdam. He is a member of the Netherlands Scientific Council for Government Policy (Wetenschappelijke Raad voor het Regeringsbeleid - WRR). His publications are in the areas of labour economics, the economics of aging and law and economics. He is a founding editor of Labour Economics: An International Journal.

 

Mr Hans Vijlbrief acting Director-General Economic Policy of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In this function he is a.o. responsible for competition policy as well as macroeconomic policy and European affairs. He also is extraordinary professor of Economic Policy at the Free University Amsterdam.

 

Prof. Frank Wolak is Professor in the Department of Economics at Stanford University (USA). His fields of specialization are Industrial Organization and Econometric Theory. His recent work studies methods for introducing competition into infrastructure industries and on assessing the impacts of these competition policies on consumer and producer welfare.
