Brainstorms
An ENCORE Brainstorm Session is a closed and informal meeting which aims at discussing a policy relevant subject in a free and open manner. It is often an opportunistic, and always a relatively small meeting, close to the working environment of those who initiated the Brainstorm Session. Researchers and policy makers discuss such topics as future plans, tentative policy papers, hot topics in the field of competition and regulation and current policy subjects.
As the ENCORE Brainstorm Sessions are closed and informal meetings, no formal minutes are made, nor will participants typically be asked to prepare papers. Presentations will be short and in the form of introductions into the topic of discussion. It is expected from participants that they prepare well on the topic of the meeting in order to make the session as valuable as possible.
In 2009, brainstorm sessions have been organized on the following topics:
Surveillance of Financial Markets, March 4, NMa.
Nederland als Internationaal Juridisch Voorkeursforum voor Civiele Schadeclaims in Mededingingszaken, June 9, T.M.C. Asser Instituut.
In 2007, brainstorm Sessions were organized on the following topics
:European Regulation on State Aid and National Interest (Europees Toezicht op Staatssteun en Nationaal Belang).
